The Irish Humanities Alliance (IHA), established in 2013, is a joint initiative of humanities researchers within higher education and research institutions including 13 universities across the island of Ireland and the Royal Irish Academy which hosts and supports the IHA. The IHA provides a platform for all-island humanities collaboration and consultation and promotes parity of esteem between humanities disciplines.

The IHA is run by a governing board of its institutional members, which meets quarterly. The IHA board is responsible for general government and strategic direction including approval of the annual work programme. It is led by an Executive Committee comprising the IHA Chair, Vice-Chair and Coordinator. The Executive Committee addresses day to day operations of the IHA. The IHA coordinator is responsible for delivery of the annual work programme and represents the IHA in all acts of ordinary business, subject to the oversight and approval of the IHA Chair.
