A new Irish Humanities Alliance Vice Chair is elected at the end of every academic year. Each member institution is entitled to nominate one person for the position of Vice Chair.
Eligibility is open to:
• IHA board members, past or current
• Members of IHA Working Groups
• Past or current members of IHA conference steering committees
Nominations process:
• Self-nomination is encouraged - expressions of interest should be emailed to the IHA coordinator Sonja Tiernan, s.tiernan@ria.ie
• The nominations process closes at 12 noon on 27th May
• If there is more than one nomination, an election will be initiated. Each IHA board member will be entitled to one vote in such an election
Appointment:
• The incoming Vice Chair will be announced at the IHA board meeting in June 2026.
• Following a handover meeting, the new Vice Chair will take up their post in September 2026.
• The incoming Vice Chair will serve on the IHA Executive for a period of no less than two years.
